While reading about Ray Bradbury, I came across this quote, which I think sums up perfectly what some people are feeeling these days:

"I hate all politics. I don't like either political party. One should not belong to them -- one should be an individual, standing in the middle. Anyone that belongs to a party stops thinking."

Third barbecue and book-crossing adventure.

Last 2 July we had our third barbecue and we did some book-crossing for the first time. I think, all in all, people enjoyed the experience; though I suppose we can improve things in future editions.

Some of the books that came out of the bag were:

- The Thirteenth Tale, by Diane Setterfield.

- The God of Small Things, by Arundhati Roy.

- The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini.

- The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams.

- Small Vices by Robert B. Parker.

- Dracula, by Bram Stoker.

- Homage to Catalonia, by George Orwell.

- King Solomon's Mines, by H. Rider Haggard.

- Things the Grandchildren Should Know, by Mark Oliver Everett.

Book-crossing!

Would you like to play a little game?

These are the rules:

- You think of a book you really love, and that you would like to share with others.

- You get a copy of the book (it may be your used one).

- You wrap it up as a present.

- On Barbecue Day (2nd July), at Casa Juanita (directions will be appropriately given, when the time comes), we will pick one book at random.

- At the end of the day, our stomachs will be full, and we will have some excellent reading for the summer! Great, ain't it?
